Cinemas around Folkestone

Silver Screen Cinema Folkestone

The Town Hall, Guildhall St, Folkestone CT20 1DY, UK – 01303 221230

This is a very enterprising cinema. On Thursday morning they have a special Silver Screen Club which costs £10 to join and then it’s only £4 to see a film. Otherwise in the evening it is normal cinema prices, They have two screens, and the recent addition of a lift to the box office and actual cinema screens, which is useful for people who have problems with climbing stairs. I have always found the staff to be very pleasant and helpful and it is well visiting. There is a small car park round the back in Shellons Street. I would definitely recommend going to the cinema there.

Nice little cinema in Folkestone. They offer popcorn and refreshments, and the tickets are quite cheap. There are only two screens, and one of them has a balcony viewing area, which costs just a little more on top of the ticket price to access. Only negative is that the chairs could be more comfortable.

Theatres for Folkestone

The Tower Theatre

North Rd, Folkestone CT20 3HL, UK – 01303 223925

Fun day at the Tower theatre singing Gilbert and Sullivan under the direction of Duncan Lord with excerpts from Utopia Ltd. and a complete Trial by Jury. Hope the audience enjoyed it as much as I did.

Saw aladdin on Saturday, it was really enjoyable and so funny. Brilliant panto. Great singing and dancing. I don't normally like pantos but will be definitely going next year. Well done to everyone.

Leas Cliff Hall

The Leas, Folkestone CT20 2DZ, UK – 01303 228600

A tricky place to rate as it is a theatre and concert space plus a cafe. The sight lines for concerts and audio are good. Ticket booking is efficient. The cafe is limited but does pleasant sandwiches, wraps and cakes. Coffee is good. Seating in the café is a bit odd but there is a hint of a sea view. There is some outside seating too. Staff are helpful and pleasant.

Venue was very pleasant. The staff were fine but many of them had a bit of a stern face like they didn't want to be there. Toilets were acceptable and didn't smell which is always a bonus. Cloakroom was £2 but you could hang a couple of jackets on one which was reasonable. Overall a good venue.

The Quarterhouse

49 Tontine St, Folkestone CT20 1BN, UK – 01303 760750

Love it here. Nice and friendly :) clean...good cheap shows

Great programs for a provincial theatre. We will be watching Tosca streamed live from the Royal Opera House on Wednesday. Friendly atmosphere and good café and bar.
