Cinemas around Folkestone

Silver Screen Cinema Folkestone

The Town Hall, Guildhall St, Folkestone CT20 1DY, UK – 01303 221230

The best cinema in the area. The tickets are reasonably priced, they also offer a decent student discount. They might not have the biggest selection of movies, but what can you expect when there are only two screens. The interior is really cool, like stepping back in time. When we go in the evening we park in the Shellons Street car park just behind the cinema which is free after 18:00. They offer super cheap tickets on weekend mornings, they are usually for the kids movies. They offer popcorn of course and some other drinks and snacks. It's just a nice experience, a world away from the usual cinema trip.

Wonderful old cinema located in the heart of Folkestone. Cheap tickets, decent selection of food, great atmosphere! Definitely catch a film here if you have time.

The Quarterhouse

49 Tontine St, Folkestone CT20 1BN, UK – 01303 760750

Have been here for both work training and to see live music. Great atmosphere especially in the bar area. Highly recommend.

Wonderful events from National theatre live, cinema screenings and gigs, to weekend long festivals and theatre before it hits the West End. Great value. We're very lucky to have a theatre space of this caliber

Googies Restaurant Bar

13 -15 Rendezvous Street, Folkestone CT20 1EY, UK – 01303 246188

Went here for the first time as I was told the food was great, it is! I had the filthy outlaw burger with fries. It really was very good. The price was comparable to other gourmet burgers. The food is the only reason I give it as many as three stars. For me the areas that need improvement were the cleanliness, it was not filthy and the decor is meant to be distressed but a sweep up wouldn't go amiss. Sadly it was the staff member who left the experience cold for me. It really felt that she would rather have been somewhere else. After taking our order in a timely fashion I could here swearing and shouting coming from downstairs! I don't know whether it was the chef or another customer but that's not ok for me. The food arrived promptly and as mentioned was great. I waited to talk to others before posting this review and the common issue raised was the politeness of the staff. Maybe I was unlucky. Maybe they need to focus on the customer experience? Would I recommend goodies? Yes. On the food alone this is worth a visit.

I loved googies since it opened up. Great food, great drinks, great vibe. Loved the fact they got their meat from local butcher and burgers were cooked to perfection. I feel since the expansion they've lost some of that family feel they used to have about the place. Service feels more casual and quality of burgers doesn't seem up to par with couple years ago. I still think good place to go in Folkestone for good munchies and a drink but they need to bring their standards back up to what they used to when they started. Medium rare on the burgers. Recent special edition food is nice touch.

The Tower Theatre

North Rd, Folkestone CT20 3HL, UK – 01303 223925

Cosy and intimate little theatre. I watched a great production of Dads Army, and had a really memorable night. Parking outside, half time refreshments.

Lovely venue, have just seen Dad's army! A real giggle, loved it, well cast .
