Let me start by saying, a warm reception, biggest bathroom I have ever seen anywhere in the UK. Closeness to the beach means, easy walk to the beach. Peaceful atmosphere, I wish I could convince my boss to let me work remotely for a month and I will pitch my tent here. Sadly I only spent 1 night, a week here would give you enough mental peace to last a while.
Great place to stay close to the beach. It's a pub with rooms upstairs. Excellent service and big and clean rooms, the toilet of our room was huge. The only downside is that it is a bit far away from Folkestone. I

We recently booked a function room at the Clifton, for a social event. We arrived with our baby in her pram and we were greeted by helpful and friendly staff who helped us in to the Hotel. The bar area was clean, bright and nicely furnished. We were shown to our room and it was set up perfectly for our family party. Food was supplied and was to a high standard. Our plates and glasses were cleared away efficiently at several times throughout the afternoon. Again, the room was clean and furnished in a clean and attractive fashion. We will definitely be using the Hotel again, for functions and for casual drinks.
Fabulous service from start to finish. Receptionists were great. I was having a bad day, and they were really helpful and kind. Beautiful room with garden and sea views.

Staff are brilliant! Very welcoming and helpful. Got a lovely little bar and a conservatory that you can smoke in, and the bar is open till late. rooms are clean and we have a tv! It's a great place to stop at or spend a night for fun. Will definitely be coming back! Very close to the town too!
Good value for the price. Felt the linen could have been better maintained but nothing revolting. Perfect for a quick overnight stopover before catching the channel tunnel. Really nice touch with the offering of a packed breakfast for people who need to leave early for their onward journey.

Cherry Garden Ln, Folkestone CT19 4AP, UK – 01303 273620
Eat there most weeks. Really friendly staff, always welcoming and go out of their way to assist you. Food good and its very children friendly. Relaxing place to eat.
Nice friendly welcoming pub along side a Premier In, both very handy for the Channel Tunnel or ferry ports. Decent enough food for us to come back several times when staying at the PI next door. Good evening meals & good beer only let down by a very expensive, small & under cooked breakfast, although to be fair it came with an 'as much as you can eat' continental accompanying breakfast. Nice & friendly service from all the staff when we stayed. Will certainly go back. See you again guys!

Great food and service and the atmosphere in the bar is warm, though I felt that one member of the bar team was in "not bothered" mode. Perhaps a one off. Would still recommend though.
Great food and service. Very cosy and friendly atmosphere. Varied and large choice of meals...big & small.

Our stay at 2a was excellent. First of all the accommodation was spotlessly clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The restaurants food was excellent. The complimentary tea, coffee soft drinks fruit and sweets were an added bonus. We would definitely want to stay again the next time we visit Folkstone.

If you would like something truly different you might like to have a look at Airbnb. These are mostly B and Bs provided by people on a very informal basis. The may have a spare room, a yurt, a cottage or a barge with space they can receive guests for a night or a month! The website is highly professional. You can really see what you are going to get. Very well worth a look. Airbnb also show 'conventional' B&Bs as well. Enjoy!
The Warren, Folkestone CT19 6NQ, UK – 01303 255093
Spectacular scenery over to France. Worth a visit if ever in Folkstone.
Stunning location, steep road to access. Nice and near channel tunnel. However staff are a bit unhelpful and the lady warden rude, they didn't even tell us when we booked that they lock the gates until 7am, and told us to park the campervan on the road so watch out if on an early Le Shuttle! It does say on the website if you hunt but we booked over the phone. The key holder even walked by holding the keys while we were waiting to leave at 6:50 and didn't even think about opening for us! We asked if they had a piece of hose to fill up the water, we just got an old watering can, whey WILL have had a hosepipe I'm sure. Toilets are OK but showers were button operated and 7 seconds between presses, stupid. If this is the only available site for the tunnel the you will be OK, but at over £30 per night I'm sure there is better. Toilets 6/10, Site (location and tidiness) 8/10, Site (staff) 3/10
