Best Western Clifton Hotel

Clifton Gardens, The Leas, Folkestone CT20 2EB, UK – 01303 851231

We recently booked a function room at the Clifton, for a social event. We arrived with our baby in her pram and we were greeted by helpful and friendly staff who helped us in to the Hotel. The bar area was clean, bright and nicely furnished. We were shown to our room and it was set up perfectly for our family party. Food was supplied and was to a high standard. Our plates and glasses were cleared away efficiently at several times throughout the afternoon. Again, the room was clean and furnished in a clean and attractive fashion. We will definitely be using the Hotel again, for functions and for casual drinks.

I travelled alone. The hotel was good value for the price paid and more than adequate for an overnight stay. Staff were pleasant and, almost without exception, helpful and friendly particularly reception and restaurant staff.

The Southcliff Hotel

22-26 The Leas, Folkestone CT20 2DY, UK – 01303 850075

It's an old Victorian building and it's slowly being refurbished and updated. What is best though is that the prices are reasonable and the staff are friendly, helpful and efficient. I felt comfortable there and secure, as the reception desk is staffed 24 hours each day. There is parking on street and you can buy daily parking permits from reception. Housekeeping staff are friendly and helpful too. I feel hotel offers excellent service and value for money. I enjoyed my stay.

Always friendly atmosphere and clean rooms. Really good value for money. Nice location.

Burlington Hotel

3-5 Earls Ave, Folkestone CT20 2HR, UK – 01303 255301

Nice old building with sea views. My room had been renovated to a high standard. We had a really nice evening meal during a Christmas function. I'd recommend the lamb. Breakfast was OK. The fruit juices were watery and some of the sausages could have been browned a little more for my taste. Overall a great value stay.

We have just returned from a 4 night break. We had an amazing time. Our room was stunning, clean comfortable BIG and great views. Breakfast was lovely and we had dinner on 3 of our four nights. This was our 3rd visit and I'm already looking forward to our next one. Lily and Chloe on the front desk were made for that position. They smiled from morning till night. Thank you for making our stay perfect.

Brickfield Tavern Table Table

Cherry Garden Ln, Folkestone CT19 4AP, UK – 01303 273620

Nice friendly welcoming pub along side a Premier In, both very handy for the Channel Tunnel or ferry ports. Decent enough food for us to come back several times when staying at the PI next door. Good evening meals & good beer only let down by a very expensive, small & under cooked breakfast, although to be fair it came with an 'as much as you can eat' continental accompanying breakfast. Nice & friendly service from all the staff when we stayed. Will certainly go back. See you again guys!

Lovely place for a drink and food is usually very good. Have had one or two not perfect meals tho. But I still come back. It is what it is. It's not a top class restaurant but pretty good. Don't think you would be disappointed and the value for lonely is great

Travel Super Market search and compare prices for hotels all over the world. Could also be useful for you. I This said I was told by a hotelier that the way to get cheap rooms is to ring up the week before and ask for the weekend rate. You can usually get an absolute bargain as they will trying to book all the rooms that they have not sold! Could be worth a try!

Nice place for a seaside drink. Cozy bar areas, newly renovated restaurant, and a roof terrace for sunny afternoons. Haven't eaten there so can't comment on the food but has a good selection of real ales and local ciders in addition to the standard drink brands. Friendly service.

Beautiful views in a lovely restaurant. Food is wonderful and the staff are friendly. A bit expensive but i think it is worth it.

If you would like something truly different you might like to have a look at Airbnb. These are mostly B and Bs provided by people on a very informal basis. The may have a spare room, a yurt, a cottage or a barge with space they can receive guests for a night or a month! The website is highly professional. You can really see what you are going to get. Very well worth a look. Airbnb also show 'conventional' B&Bs as well. Enjoy!
