Nice Hotel which has been in Folkestone for years. Has been refurbished. Anyone from off the street can go in & have a meal. Its buffet help yourself. They do entertainment too in the ball room with another bar. We joined friends in there one Saturday night & really enjoyed the live show.
Went for a few drinks, the main bar was closed but the Ballroom was open (with bar). Best night ever. The entertainment was so bad it was good. People dancing like there was no tomorrow. And the Ballroom was open til midnight! Wild times!
22-26 The Leas, Folkestone CT20 2DY, UK – 01303 850075
We stayed there for a night at the start of our trip through south England. A little aged, but clean and comfortable rooms with a beautiful sea view. Friendly staff, a nice little bar area with a pool table and close to the town centre. We liked it so much, that we spend there two more nights on our way back.
A cheap and cheerful hotel, more than adequate for a nights stay. It is dated and could do with revamping but towels and bedding clean. Would use it again

I am a secret shopper and write reviews without the staff knowing the purpose of my visit. I was NOT doing a review when I visited here, but due to the absolute shambles of Dirty bar Dirty tables Stressed staff Dreadful food Slow service I have informed the relevant people to check things out...never ever in my 15 years of secret shopping have I ever seen this chaos. This is not my professional review, this is a friendly come on guys ..... Please give this amazing located place the credit it really could be due... Eurotunnel is sending so many people your way...
Very reasonable, main meals around average £10... All out meals were well prepared, fresh ingredients. No complaints..

Loved this place! Quirky but homely.. Wonderful open fireplace which is very welcoming. Extensive patio area with plenty of seating. Menu has something for everyone and the food was delicious and reasonably priced. This is my new 'to go' place when visiting Folkestone!
Really good cooking. A brilliant gastro pub at acceptable prices. Excellent service. Very pleasant staff. Brilliant atmosphere in this lovely old building, complete with log fire!

Old Barn Cottage 1 Peene House Cottages, Peene Cottages, Peene, Folkestone CT18 8BA, UK – 01303 273402
Located just 5 minutes from the Eurotunnel Terminal, Old Barn Cottages is a small friendly B&B. Kay is a lovely host, who has some great recommendations for pubs in the local area. The bedroom is very quiet, and the property itself is an old building with charm. The stairs are a little steep, but easily manageable. We have stayed there twice recently, and enjoy the packed breakfast we are given on departure on LeShuttle to France. Would definitely recommend.

A nice B&B in a historic farmhouse. Good ensuite room and breakfast. Friendly and helpful owner. Local pub for dinner is about a mile away.

If you would like something truly different you might like to have a look at Airbnb. These are mostly B and Bs provided by people on a very informal basis. The may have a spare room, a yurt, a cottage or a barge with space they can receive guests for a night or a month! The website is highly professional. You can really see what you are going to get. Very well worth a look. Airbnb also show 'conventional' B&Bs as well. Enjoy!
The Warren, Folkestone CT19 6NQ, UK – 01303 255093
A clean and tidy, well run Camping & Caravanning Club Site situated on the cliff edge at The Warren, Folkestone. A dog-friendly site within minutes walk from a wild dog-friendly beach where a cliff-top walk to Folkestone takes about 35 minutes. This lovely site is situated in its own micro-climate. It is so well sheltered that even in a gale-force southwesterly (the prevailing wind) there was barely a breath of wind. Open to non-members. One word of warning; the site is approached by a long narrow winding road. For this reason only motorhomes and tents are accepted.
We have spent many weekends at this idyllic campsite. The views are amazing the staff are very friendly and helpful the beach is dog friendly all year. The toilets are very clean and lovely laundry area. Very sad it closes during the winter period. There is a long steep road approaching the site which can cause problems during summer periods when people park for the beach and you are trying to get through with motorhomes. This all adds to the experience of this wonderful secret hideaway.
Wear Bay Rd, Folkestone CT19 6PS, UK – 01303 252168
One of the most visually-stunning campsites I have stayed at anywhere in the world. Tucked comfortably into the white cliffs, with an amazing elevated sweep across the English Channel to a tinderbox-view of France at night, Little Switzerland offered a warm welcome to a group of cyclists tired out after a day of Alpine climbs into and out of Dover and on the approach to Folkestone. And the warm hospitality (and cold pint of beer) offered by the site owner on arrival was very welcome, even keeping the bar/restaurant open late so we could eat our dinner indoors before heading to our tents for the night. Much, much appreciated!
I love it here, me and a few lads head down here every so often on our motorbikes and camp for the night, lovely location with a nice pub on top of the cliffs. Tony and Debbie are always very hospitable.
